Sunday along the creek

Deer were drinking out of the bird bath this morning.  What a beautiful sight to see first thing in the morning.  We are never prepared for those special "little blessings" that out Father shares with us.  All we can do is stare in awe, as I did looking at the waving white flags as they dash away.  Seeing the deer reminds me of reindeer and then of course of Christmas.  Christmas will be extra special this year as we are all getting together in Sioux Falls to celebrate the birth of our Savior.  I have spent hours lovingly putting together gifts that remind me of my children and their children.  This is a task I start early.  No Black Friday shopping for this old girl!  By mid summer I have nearly completed my list and start checking it twice.  Today I have the privilege of taking one last look at the gift and wrap it up into a beautiful package to put under the tree.  Complete with ribbons and bows.  It gives me a mellow feeling.  I look forward to seeing their faces when they open them.  Then is when I receive the special smile that means, "Thanks, Mom, I've always wanted one of these"  or maybe something like "What do you do with this thing"  or then again it could be "A wire thing, hmm?"  Gotta love family gatherings.  Just gotta Love.  Blessings to you today.

Starting out

This will be quite an accomplishment for me.  Blogging has not been my long suit.
I look forward to my husband returning home from a trip to Rapid City.  I've been kept busy with getting the yard ready for snow and of course my job as Casey's, which gets me up at 3:00am.  Bed time is early.  It is nearly 6:30pm and my eyes are getting droopy.  More on another day.
I'll leave you with my favorite quote:
"May your whole life be so settled and established, that all the blasts of Satan and all the storms of earth will never be able to move you. May you feel God's loving presence until the storm has passed."  Charles Spurgeon
